Andrea L. Volpe writes about objects, images, memory and explanation. She is at work on a memoir about grief and thought, Trousseau’s Sign and a cultural history of ephemeral photography in nineteenth-century America. She holds a Ph.D in cultural history from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey and teaches in the Harvard College Writing Program.
